We've made it yet again--The Biggest Loser: Couples
, the season finale. We started with eleven couples, some breaking previously established records on the show--the oldest contestant, the youngest contestant, you get the idea. As the competition pushed on we even got a few more records shattered--one broke the all-time record for the amount of weight lost, another broke a similar record for female contestants. There's seemingly no reason not to feel bad for anybody in this season, and although politics may have gotten in the way of the aspirations of some to win the entire thing, well, at least they've lost weight, and nothing can beat that.
But, of course, there's always the $250,000 prize, which either of the four remaining contestants could win provided they lost the most weight. Or, if you got eliminated, there's the $100,000 at-home prize. Tonight's going to be another one of those nights, when we get to see the final numbers for everybody, coupled with a lot of feel-good hugs and tears. You get the idea.
There's Tara, who's won a lot of challenges and has had the highest percentage of weight loss for anybody who's ever joined the show. There's Helen, who's quietly worked on the sidelines, still managing to win a few things and ultimately playing the nice card. And then there's Ron and Mike, the only original couple remaining in the competition--it's a feat, getting this far, really--and the ones whose futures are on the line. Voting is definitely over by now, and either of the two will join the ladies in one final weigh-in.
One of them wins tonight. That is the bottom line.
Among the plusses tonight, apart from the chance to see the other couples, there's another first on the show. Two people will be introduced to the show, and you can vote for either of them to join the next season of The Biggest Loser
. Not bad a time to start ahead, eh? And then, I'll repeat, the tears, the hugs, and the new starts. That's what matters. The season finale of The Biggest Loser: Couple
s airs live tonight from 8pm on NBC.
