The Biggest Loser: Alison Sweeney Packs On the Pounds
On NBC's The Biggest Loser, contestants from around the country and all walks of life come together for a common goal: to lose weight, change their lives, and hopefully get their hands on a little money. They will go through brutal workout sessions with tough trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels and face several temptations during their time on the show. No one knows more about the importance of staying healthy than host Alison Sweeney. An actress on the daytime soap Days of Our Lives, Sweeney's weight has fluctuated over the years but has said in several interviews that she is now comfortable with herself and the way that she looks. However, in a few months, Sweeney will be in a gym herself to shed some pounds - baby pounds, that is. The host is expecting her second child, a girl, with husband, David Sanov.

People magazine caught up with the actress and host at last week's celebrity auction for the Clothes Off Our Back charity. “It’s really the only time in your life that you’re supposed to gain weight,” Sweeney quipped to the mag. Fellow mothers may be comforted to know that pregnancy isn't any easier on big time celebrities. They go through the same aches, pains, and nausea that all woman do, especially in the beginning. “I was really morning sick,” she said. “It was brutal. I would order my favorite things from restaurants, and I would get it and say, ‘Get that thing away from me.’ Grilled chicken or tomatoes would be the worst. I would tell my husband to get it away from me.” Sweeney tells People that the only thing she could eat without much of a problem was Cheerios.

Sweeney returns again as host for The Biggest Loser for the show's sixth season.  In a recent press conference call, Sweeney said that she has already made plans with the show to take a leave of absence when her daughter is born.  "I'll be MIA for a portion of it," she said, regarding the show's taping.  The weight loss competition comes back with a families edition that will premiere Tuesday, September 16th at 8pm ET.
