Jillian goes to meet her team and is shocked when she finds out she'll be running the new black team. Things are awkward because Sione is visibly upset that Jillian's his new trainer. She tries to calm them all by telling them it'll all be fine. Always optimistic – she says they should be glad they'll bet getting two types of workouts. Mike is by far the most positive contestant that switched teams. Sione thinks Jillian doesn't push him as hard as Bob does because he just doesn't care.
Bob enters the house to find his new team. He asks Mandi and Kristen how they're doing. It's an emotional conversation. He cuts the conversation short and tells them they need to go work out. There's an awkward confrontation on the steps of the gym as the two teams meet. Filipe, Sione, and Helen give Bob huge hugs. He takes his old team aside and starts to break down. He starts crying and all he can say is that it's difficult to seem them standing there in those black shirts. Sione says he'd rather go home and Bob tells him he has to work hard. Filipe answers back, “How?” Bob doesn't have a response for them. He gives them a hug and says, “I have to go in there and be a trainer.”
Bob's clearly not into the workout. He tells Kristen that he's about to lose his sh*t. She cheers him up by telling him she looks good in blue. He admits it's the hardest thing he's ever had to do on the
Biggest Loser.
Jillian's team isn't doing much better. He decides to push Mandi and Aubrey to see what they can do.
Product placement time! Jillian comes in with food for a nutrition lesson for her black team. Keep your food fresh with Ziploc bags. Gee, thanks Jillian. I learned a ton about nutrition.
Challenge time! Alison Sweeny presents the challenge. The idea is to put as many miles on your team's bike as possible. The team with the most miles after 24 hours wins a 3-pound advantage for their team and each player on the winning team will get their very own bike. This is the longest challenge in
Biggest Loser history. Mike and Mandi start out on the bikes.
Tara goes and grabs supplies for her team. Mike is the first off the bike for the black team and Helen replaces him. Everyone on the black was going to do thirty minutes and then rest for two and a half hours. Aubrey replaces Mandi after an hour. Sione follows Helen. Kristen replaces Mandi after an hour. The black team starts to do even smaller increments. This might be one of the most boring challenges ever. My shins, my butt, my knees, my sweat, I'm sore, I'm tired – all the complaints went on and on.
Ron, Cathy and Mandi decide that they'd be better off all stopping now so that they can focus on a good workout. She presents the idea to the teams with 9 hours left in the challenge. Sione is the first to say no because he feels as if it'd be quitting. He's quit on a lot of things in his life and he's tried to get off the weight before and it always came back. If he quits now, he'll always have that way out. Mandi is the first to say she's with him. So they won't be stopping. They all agree to finish the 24 hours.
A very pregnant Allison Sweeny comes back in with one minute left and encourages the contestants to get up and cheer Helen and Dane on in the last sixty seconds. The blue team rode 264 miles but the black team rode 301 miles in 24-hours. Tara rode the most out of everyone. She rode 58.8 miles all by herself.
The challenge sort of brought all the contestants together. Wait, correction, Sione's speech brought everyone together. They all acknowledge that they're working towards the same goal. They are all striving to be healthy, happy individuals who are tired of giving excuses. They're all individuals ready for a new life. It's touching. Don't hate me if I teared up.
Tune in tomorrow for the conclusion of this week's episode.
