Joelle and Carla stand up in front of everyone in order to give an eplaination. Aubrey asks her if she wants to be there and Joelle stutters. It turns into Carla yelling at Joelle. Joelle disgusts the group when she continues to claim she worked hard although she finally admits that she does want to be there. Carla tells her that she's now failed her twice and Joelle just says, “no.” Great response Joelle, great response. Mike and Ron have their turn to talk. Mike tells them that talk is cheap in the house. Ron asks everyone again to not send his son home.
In the elimination room, things are tense. Shanon apologizes to Carla but puts the first vote up against the Silver Team. Aubrey follows suit. Right after that, Joelle enters into a speech about how she's offended people are claiming she didn't do any work. She claims that her scale results were low but her work effort was good. Everyone in the room, especially Carla, just shakes their heads. Filipe votes for the Silver Team and tells Joelle that although he appreciates her speaking her mind, he cannot stand selfishness. Tara seals their fate and votes for the Joelle and Carla.
It's an emotional goodbye with Carla and everyone takes their turn hugging her. Joelle just stands back and watches before exiting. In their exit interview, they talk about their need to work together. It's a problem they were never allowed to conquer. Joelle clearly has shut down in the interview.
Right now, Joelle and Carla haven't been speaking. They meet for the first time in months. Joelle tries to shove the issue aside and Carla won't let her. Joelle even said, “I don't know what you're speaking on,” which is clearly really offensive. They're conversation goes like this:
CarlaL “We're friends or we're supposed to be”
Joelle: “No, we're not”
Carla: “I guess we weren't from the beginning”
Joelle: “That's it, I'm done.”
Joelle has 57 pounds total. Carla has lost 87 pounds. I doubt they'll be speaking again any time soon.
