Exclusive Interview: Brittany Aberle and Maggie King of 'The Biggest Loser'
Wednesday, March 19, 2008

Last night's episode of The Biggest Loser gave us not one, but two eliminations.  First, when Brittany and Maggie fell below the yellow line, the contestants decided to send Maggie home.  Later, Brittany dropped below the yelling line again in a weigh in and went up against Jay for elimination.  The members of the blue team decided to stay loyal to their teammate and keep Jay in the game.  Today, the two eliminated teammates (and friends) did their interview together for BuddyTV.  They dished on everything from their partners to their trainers to the upcoming live finale.

Below, you will find the complete transcript and mp3 of the interview.

Your Take

mrschitown said: I'm so glad Brittany is gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey everybody, this is Gina from BuddyTV, and today I'm talking to Maggie and Brittany from NBC's The Biggest Loser. Hey Maggie and hey Brittany, how are you guys doing?

Maggie and Brittany: Good, how are you?

I'm good. Thanks so much for doing the interview, and doing it together. This is really cool. Let's start with Brittany. When you first showed up to do The Biggest Loser, did you know it was going to be couples, or not until the first day?

Brittany: When I first showed up for The Biggest Loser, I did know it was going to be couples, and I knew I was going to be meeting my partner on the first day. I was extremely nervous about it, because I was like okay, I have no idea whether it's going to be a boy or a girl, or if we're going to get along. We're going into this journey that's extremely emotional as well as mental, and are we going to be able to hang together? There was a lot of things going through my mind when I thought to myself of not knowing my partner.

Maggie, I would love to go through an experience like this with my best friend. What was it like for you to be with Jenn?

Maggie: You know, Jenn and I have a crazy relationship. We're one of those best friend couples that argue all the time, then we don't even think about it afterwards. It's like we have those stupid little arguments for two seconds, and everybody looks at us like, "Oh gosh, are you guys okay?" Then we hug and we stop two seconds later. I think that going on with somebody like Jenn, being my best friend, it's definitely good to know that there's nothing I can do that will disappoint her, and there's nothing she can do that will disappoint me. Even if we do fight, we know we're gonna get over it in about a minute anyway. I love the relationship that Jenn and I have. It's so motivating in that we just know that we're both going to put 100 percent in stuff, and I know that if I'm having problems that I can always talk to her, and vice versa. It was really great, I would never choose to go with anybody else. She was awesome.

Brittany, did it bother you that Kelly cast a vote for you in the first elimination in last night's episode?

Brittany: You know what, it didn't bother me at all, because I realized I was actually flattered that Kelly felt that I had a great support system at home and that I had already achieved my goal of being hot. I was flattered, and for her to kind of stand up and say, "You know what, I know everybody else is voting for Maggie, but I feel like she's being true to herself." I'm proud of Kelly for being true to her character, and sticking to who she wanted to vote for. If it was me, right on Kelly, I'm so proud of her. She was part of the black team. I don't hold anything against anyone and their votes in that room. It's a hard position to be in, and I'm proud of everyone who's made it as far as I did and even further.

Well, you rocked that dress on the runway last night. When you finally put it on, how were you feeling?

Brittany: When I finally put it on and looked down and realized how much was hanging out, I was like okay, this is new, but I'm gonna work it. I put this dress on, you better believe it, I've got it on, let's work this dress. I hope that I exuded that confidence and showed America that I can work a dress with colors, because I've always been in black. So I was rocking purple last night, I was so proud of that.

Maggie: Yeah, she was rocking the purple. Did you see that?

Maggie, what do you think about Bob's blue team here? Do you think when he had the opportunity to pick his teammates that he stacked them with who he thought would be in the finale, and maybe not who needed him most?

Maggie: You know, Bob's not stupid. Bob is very smart. He did what he thought was right for him, and he bonded very well with all the teams he chose. I think that it was best for all of us who were not chosen by Bob, because then we had the opportunity to work for Jillian, and work with Jillian. I think that it was alright for us, and I think that things played out the way they should have. Brittany, Bernie, me, Kelly, Paul, and Jenn should have been with Jillian. I'm just happy with the way Bob chose, I couldn't be any happier about it. I think Bob's a great trainer, but working with Jillian is an experience I can never get back, and I just love her. In his position, who knows what I would have done, but he's probably tired of losing.

Last question for both of you: How goes the preparation for the live finale next month?

Brittany: You know, this preparation for the finale, I couldn't be more stressed out, which is probably not a good thing with weight loss. Basically my preparation for the finale is, you know, to look as healthy as possible without doing anything stupid to try to lose weight. I want to continue on to lose weight after the finale, because I want Jillian's body. I am not going to stop until I look like her, which in the amount of time that we have before the finale is not possible for me. You better believe that I'm going to give Jillian a run for her money with that body.

Maggie, what about you?

Maggie: My preparation is that I'm working out four to five hours a day, and making sure that I do everything I can. Trying to eat right, counting calories, food journal, all that kind of stuff. Along with Brittany, I'm getting stressed as well, which if we have noticed, on the scale, especially my last week there, it doesn't really work well for me. I'm trying to make sure I get enough sleep, and trying not to stress out that much. I also want to continue to lose weight after the finale, because I don't think I'll be exactly where I want to be by finale. In July, I'm in a wedding where I have ordered a size eight dress, so my goal for that is to make sure that I'm even thinner than size eight so then they can take it in a bit.

Well, I just wanted to thank you both so much. You both look great, and we can't wait for the live finale.

Maggie: Thank you.

Brittany: Thank you so much, nice talking to you.
