Last night, on
The Biggest Loser, host Alison Sweeney surprised the remaining five contestants with a trip to New York City. There, they received makeovers, went shopping with
Project Runway winner Christian Siriano, and showed off their new looks on
The Tyra Banks Show. When they returned to California, though, it was back to intense workouts with trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels. At the weigh-in this week, Ed and Renee fell below the yellow line and, thanks to Ed’s alliance,
Renee was sent home. Today, she spoke to BuddyTV in an exclusive interview.
Renee joined
The Biggest Loser along with her daughter Michelle, who convinced her to come on the show. “We both needed to make drastic changes in our lives,” she told BuddyTV today. “She asked if I would join her in trying out and I knew it was an answer to my prayers!” The two had a rocky relationship and even went without speaking for 6 years prior to appearing on the show. “It has changed our lives 100%,” Renee said of being part of The Biggest Loser. “We were able to not only reconnect but rebuild, encourage one another, cry, laugh, sweat and celebrate our lives together!”
Though Renee was eliminated, her daughter remains in the competition and is the only black team member left. She won last night’s challenge and took home the prize of a 2 week trip for two to the Fitness Ridge Resort and Spa in St. George, Utah. Renee could not possibly be more of a proud mother, telling BuddyTV, “Michelle is a beautiful person inside and out. She is strong and courageous and I am so proud to call her my daughter!”
Because of the trip to New York on this week’s episode, Renee did not have as much time to focus on eating healthy and working out, siting that as the reason for her low number at the weigh-in. She’s been training hard for the upcoming live finale, saying that it’s all about “cardio, cardio, cardio!”
