Tomorrow night, the final four contestants on
The Biggest Loser: Families will weigh in to determine who will move on to the final three and head to the live finale. The remaining contestants are:
Michelle Aguilar, a 26-year-old assistant director from Texas,
Heba Salama, a 30-year-old pharmaceutical sales representative from North Carolina, her husband
Ed Brantley, a 31-year-old chef, and
Vicky Vilcan, a 37-year-old anesthetist from Louisiana. There will be a twist, though, in the weigh-in this week. Just like last season, America will decide who will be the third and final contestant to move on to the finale.
In seasons past, the two contestants with the highest percentage of weight loss in the last weigh-in before the finale would vote to determine which contestant in the bottom two would be eliminated. This year though, the two contestants to fall below the yellow line will become eligible for America to vote them in to the final three. While fans of the show may be excited about this kind of power, the trainers on
The Biggest Loser are less enthusiastic. "I was disappointed because
The Biggest Loser's not a popularity contest. It's about numbers," Jillian Michaels said when the twist was first revealed. "I was just disappointed."
Trainer Bob Harper echoed that sentiment, saying, "I think that it's a really tricky thing because America hasn't seen everything that all these four contestants have gone through. I'm kind of uncomfortable about it because they don't have all the information. I think we all talk about needing information, and it's just if they get all what they've seen on the show, it's just still so much more than that."
The live finale of
The Biggest Loser: Families will take place on Tuesday, December 16, at 8pm ET on NBC. The contestant who loses the highest percentage of weight will walk away with the $250,000 grand prize. The player who is not voted by America to be part of the final three will enter the second part of the finale competition,
The Biggest Loser: Families "at home" weigh-in, where the winner will receive $100,000.
