Although not everyone is a certified physics genius, Chuck Lorre, creator of CBS' upcoming comedy series,
The Big Bang Theory, assures viewers will be able to relate to his show, which revolves around two physicists who are at a complete loss when it comes to women and love.
"[The] idea of feeling like you're on the outside looking in is certainly universal. It's that feeling that everybody got a book on how to live this life, and they failed to give you a copy,” Lorre told Forbes.com. “These guys, especially [series star]
Johnny Galecki's character, feel it deeply; they want to be part of everything but they can't. They're distanced from it-- and I think you can care for them because we all feel that way. I know I do.

Lorre, the man behind other comedy hits like
Two and a Half Men, Roseanne, Dharma & Greg and
Grace Under Fire, said he came up with the idea for The Big Bang Theory after a series of conversations with co-executive producer Bill Prady. Before venturing into television, Prady had been working as a computer programmer. His colleagues possessed great mental abilities, but experienced some difficulty working “in the world that we all know.” This is the primary dilemma that the shows' protagonists face in their everyday lives.
