Previously on The Big Bang Theory: After a season's worth of pining, Leonard (Galecki) finally asked Penny out on a date, which she accepted by giving him a big kiss.
Coming back for a second year, one of last season's surprise successes will undoubtedly feature more nerd humor as well as some romantic intrigue. Though it's nice in a fantasy world, the idea of Leonard and Penny dating and living happily ever after isn't very likely. That blossoming romance will likely be tested even further since Sara Gilbert was recently named a new series regular.
Reprising her role as the nerdy Leslie Winkle, Leonard's former sex buddy, this addition will certainly help increase the amount of relationship comedy on the show, as the characters are rarely surrounded by women of any kind. The move also continues the fond
Roseanne reunion of pairing Darlene and David as series regulars together again.
Additionally, fans can expect plenty more nerd activity. Jim Parsons' Sheldon was a truly breakout character last year, winning over many critics with his always rational character. Nerd-lovers will also get to see Simon Helberg, fresh off his stint as the villainous Moist in
Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog.
