The N Network Cancels 'The Best Years' Athena Karkanis is a television, movie and theater actress who has also worked extensively as a voice talent for animated series. She has acted in TV shows such as Growing Up Creepy, Chappelle’s Show, 1-800-Missing, Kojak, Kevin Hill, Skyland, and Train 48. Athena Karkanis has also worked on Nelvana’s Care Bears: Big Wish movies, and is slated to appear in the upcoming horror flick Saw IV. She currently plays student Dawn Vargaz in the N’s teen drama show The Best Years.
Dawn Vargaz is portrayed by Athena Karkanis in the television drama series The Best Years. She started out acting at the age of two in TV commercials, and went on to live a star-studded and seemingly charmed life. She stars in the popular teen series “Bel Air High,” and enjoys a lifestyle saturated with fame, non-stop partying, excitement and riches. However, she also feels empty and lonely, never having made a true friend in her life. Even her first kiss and sexual experience were merely on-screen illusions while the cameras were rolling. She resolves to find a ‘normal’ life as a student at Charles University, away from all the high-profile activity of Hollywood.
