The Bachelor's Brad Womack Can't Escape His Past
Wednesday, May 21, 2008

On season 11 of The Bachelor, Brad Womack came to California to find the woman of his dreams. A bar owner from Texas, he had been in some serious relationships but none that had managed to last. During his time on The Bachelor, he courted 25 women and narrowed them down to two: Jenni Croft and DeAnna Pappas. At the final rose ceremony, he dumped both women and decided to stay single. Rumors flew that he was involved with his ex and the backlash from the fans was harsh. There is no doubt that Brad is trying to escape his past but with Pappas as the new Bachelorette, that’s proving a lot tougher than he probably thought!

Monday night’s season premiere of The Bachelorette started off the same way every promo for the show has: with Brad dumping DeAnna on the season finale of The Bachelor. DeAnna has said, in several interviews, that she has made peace with Brad’s decision and actually said that she respects his decision. Yet, that was not apparent on Monday night’s episode of The Bachelorette as the show seemed to bash Brad from start to finish.

The episode showed the clip from DeAnna’s appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where the host called Brad a “jerk”. DeAnna also said that her whole family cried after watching The Bachelor because of the heartache she had endured. On the limo ride to the mansion, the men dished out the insults, calling Brad a “tool” and an “idiot” for letting DeAnna go. Even at the cocktail party, his name came up again and it seemed that he was often the topic of discussion throughout the episode. Though it seems obvious that both Brad and DeAnna want to move on from their past, until everyone stops talking about it, it may be easier said than done.

Do you think DeAnna should bring up Brad anymore on The Bachelorette?
Yes
No
