The Bachelorette: DeAnna Opens Mouth, Inserts Foot
Tuesday, June 24, 2008

I really felt bipolar last night when I watched the hometown date episode of The Bachelorette. My emotions changed as DeAnna visited each state. I wonder if it's possible to be in love with two people. I'm pretty sure I've heard a Bachelor or two say that before. Good, 'cause I'm pretty sure I've got the hots for both Jason and Jeremy. DeAnna is going to have to crush one of them in the next week or two and I've already started stocking up on Kleenex. From Jeremy opening up about his mom's death to Jason's reunion with his son, let's just say the tears were a-flowin' in my living room last night.

I felt confused by DeAnna's sudden attraction to Jesse, but let's not forget that Twilley called it, in his press conference call, that he would be the last man standing. Before last night's episode started, I thought, for sure, that Jesse was headed back to Colorado alone but it was Graham who ended up leaving. Scandalous! Graham wouldn't open to DeAnna on his hometown date and she was not havin' it. The minute any guy displays any behavior she doesn't like, they get shown the door. Let's give The Bachelo'rs Matt Grant a little more credit than we perhaps have in the past. He found with Shane on the second group date, in Vegas, but kept her around anyway and found love with her ... for a minute, at least.

When DeAnna eliminated Graham, the look on his face was total and complete shock. She walked him outside and told him that she couldn't risk getting hurt again, except she was eliminating the one person she was falling in love with. This revelation brought Graham to tears who then had a revelation of his own for DeAnna. From his pocket, he pulled out a leter that he wrote to her, of all the things he wanted to say but couldn't muster up the courage to do. Woops, DeAnna.

All DeAnna ever talks about is how she believes in the power of the show but I think the show has made her paranoid and edgy. She seemed much more relaxed during her time with Brad on The Bachelor but, then again, she wasn't the one sending people home week after week. She seems to want everyone to behave a certain way, by her rules and standards, with Jesse being the only exception. If Twilley is right and Jesse is one to win The Bachelorette, two things are certain. One, I will be angry and two, that relationship will be over before it begins.

Who is going home next week on The Bachelorette?
Jeremy
Jason
Jesse
