If you've been following my weekly round of Winners and Losers of The Bachelorette, it's pretty obvious which three of the four remaining suitors will move on to the next round and which one will go home tonight. Though what transpired this week is nothing unexpected, each of the hometown dates reveals something new and different about the bachelors and their families, and whether or not Ali can see past the horrors of taxidermy and parental interrogation.

You can check out the highlights of the episode in Meghan Carlson's Bachelorette-Bites. Meanwhile, let's identify the winners and losers of the night.

The Winners

Chris L.

Though clearly a good catch, Chris hasn't really captured Ali's heart the way Roberto has in the past. But this week's hometown date gives Chris a huge advantage over all the other guys, thanks to his down-to-earth family--which is quite a refreshing and welcoming change after Ali got grilled by Roberto's father. Chris' dad, in particular, points out something in common between Chris and Ali, who both takes pride in taking care of their loved ones, and reminds Ali that life is short and that "love is the only reality." Out of all the hometown dates, I think Chris' takes the top spot simply because he gave Ali a sneak peek at what life would be like with him and his family--a prospect that seems to appeal to Ali, at least for now.

I'm a little in between when it comes to Roberto this week on The Bachelorette. On his own, he seems like a really great person or someone who stepped out of a fairytale as Ali would describe him. He looks hot in a baseball uniform, he's got the whole package and even has tons of awards and trophies to prove it. On the other hand, meeting Roberto's family (and comparing them to Chris' family), made me realize just how much Ali looks like an outsider even when she's dancing with them. And though Roberto's family have already given Ali their blessing, it's hard not to look past the fact that his family thinks very highly of him and will do everything to protect him.

The Losers

I predicted that Kirk is the one going home tonight and getting a sneak peek at his life at home with his family makes me more confident with my decision. First of all, his parents don't speak so Ali had to go to two separate hometown dates to meet his mom, a sweet and emotional woman with lots of home cooked treats, and his dad, who has a basement filled with stuffed animals. It turns out Kirk's dad loves to bring animals back into life (after killing them first) and even has a freezer where he keeps their carcasses along with other frozen treats. He reminds me of Kyle the outdoorsman and if the first episode of The Bachelorette has taught us anything, it's that Ali is not a fan of taxidermy. All that taxidermy horror aside, Ali seems to blend in well with Kirk's family. But at the end of the day, someone has to go home and out of the four remaining suitors, Kirk just happens to be at the bottom of Ali's list.

Just like Chris and Ali, Frank and Ali also have something in common: they're both at the point of their lives where they're following their heart and putting their careers in the backseat. In other words, they're bumming around and not really doing anything. Ali perceives this as something good but all it does is gives Frank all the time in the world to overanalyze his relationship with Ali. You can tell that in spite of this, Ali still likes Frank and not surprisingly, he gets a rose. However, you can also tell that Ali feels that his insecurities are getting the best of him.
