Things really heated up during week 6 of The Bachelorette
as Desiree Hartsock and her reaming men got to know each other even better in Barcelona, Spain
. The language, the coastline, the sangria, GaudÃ's La Sagrada FamÃlia, and tapas are hard to resist, and so is romance, in such a lovely place. Des saw the sensual side to Drew Kenney on their first 1-on-1 together. On the other 1-on-1 this week, Zak Waddell and Des deepened their already promising relationship. Things are looking up for Drew and Zak, but the same can't be said for James Case, who was overheard by the other guys that if he makes it to the top four, he has a shot at being the next bachelor.
In this deleted scene, Drew reveals himself to be a man on a mission, and that mission is to expose James for who he truly is. James describes ending up with Desiree or becoming the next bachelor as a "win-win," which upsets everyone immensely since they are here for Des and Des only. It is clear that James is not in the same mindset as the other bachelors. He can both picture a life with Desiree and in the very near future, dating other women and perhaps even dating them on camera. Since the two are not mutually exclusive, Drew wants to warn Des of James' calculating ways. It is clear that Drew has a very distinct moral compass, and describes his decision to tell Des the truth as having no other choice. He is truly a honorable guy, but is being the ringleader of the "Send James Home Club," a warning sign of things to come?
On a lighter note, Zak admits that he has a thing for older ladies, but only in the platonic sense. On Desiree and Zak's date, Zak reveals an endearing friendship that he has between a 90-year-old woman named Ranada back home. He was out one evening at a karaoke bar when he saw Ranada sitting at a table in what he describes as a prom dress. She seemed like someone with a lot of "spunk." They now karaoke together every Tuesday and Randa bring snacks. Kind of adorable!
Things are about to get really intense in week 7 while the gang is in Portugal. Something happens between Drew and Des that brings everyone to tears.
