The Bachelorette: Ryan Hoag's Conference Call

Ryan Hoag was definitely a unique suitor for DeAnna Pappas, on this season of The Bachelorette. Besides being the only professional football player to join the cast, he was also the only virgin. Ryan is a person who stands strong in his beliefs and doesn’t apologize for it. He had hopes that DeAnna would see and appreciate that about him but, unfortunately, the two never had the time to really get to know each other. This week, he spoke to the press in a conference call and talked about everything from his virginity to what he really thinks of the remaining men in the house.

Ryan told the media that he didn’t want to hide who he was from DeAnna, which is why he was up front from the start. "I wanted to make it as realistic as possible. I can't say I've ever gone on a first date and said, 'Hey, I'm Ryan Hoag. I'm a virgin,'" he said. He went on to say that he felt that his strong beliefs and values are really what set him apart from the other men this season. "There were other guys on the show that were believers, but I think I wear my heart on my sleeve and was the most open with my faith and the fact that it came first in my important relationships,” Ryan said. “I wasn't afraid to admit that and make that evident from Day 1."

On Monday night’s episode, Twilley freaked out DeAnna, and the viewers, when he hid in her bushes and waited for her to return home from a date. When she stepped out of her limo, he stepped out from the bushes and asked her to get to know him better. DeAnna did just that and gave him a rose over Ryan. "He'll attest to this, he's the type of person that if there's a conversation going on and he's not a part of it, he'll make himself a part of that conversation. He kind of has to be the center of attention," Ryan said of Twilley. "I still question whether or not he truly had the mind set of going in there, meeting somebody and ending up getting married. We'll leave it at that."

The house turned on Jeremy, who currently seems to be the season frontrunner. Ryan did not hesitate, at all, to let the press know what his issue was with him. "There were resounding concerns regarding Jeremy,” he said. “There's a fine line between being a gentleman and racing to the front of the line to try to make her realize that he's doing this and that for her. That was the biggest problem I had, but she obviously was eating it up. I saw right through it personally, and that's why I called him out on it."

Ryan finished the call by letting everyone know that he has been fielding offers from several NFL teams and should start with one next season. In the meantime, he is finishing substitute teaching at his alma mater high school until the end of the year.

Did DeAnna make the right decision to eliminate Ryan?
Yes, they weren't a good match at all.
No, she should've ditched Twilley instead.
