The Bachelorette

If last night’s season premiere of The Bachelorette taught us one thing, it’s this: Men are just as crazy as women. Give me a guy who’s desperate to find love and I’ll show you his crazy side. I thought the women were nuts on season 12 of The Bachelor when they chewed through cans, sing original songs, and hand over their underwear in order to grab Matt Grant’s attention. The men, however, lost their minds just as quickly when they laid eyes on DeAnna Pappas last night. They showed off their duck calls, their dancing skills, and their tiny underwear to try to get the oh-so-coveted first impression rose.

Here’s what annoys me about The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. Because of the format of the show, the main man or woman in charge is forced to give roses to people they really will never end up with. I, for one, was shocked when DeAnna handed over that first impression rose to Jesse last night. Though I give him credit for his unique attire and laid back attitude, he is certainly not the guy that DeAnna is going to end up with. He doesn’t appear anywhere else in the clips this season so I take it he goes out fairly early.

If I had to call it for DeAnna, I think she’ll take Graham, Jason, Richard, Jeremy, and Eric far this season. They seem to most embody what she is looking for in a boyfriend, a husband, and a father for her children. I could be wrong, and it could just be my love for Jason talking, but that’s what I see for DeAnna. I see Ryan, Twilley, Sean, and Ron heading home in the next week or two. Fred, Paul, Robert, Chris, and Brian (Texas) will float around for a while but won’t make it to the final 5.  We'll find out next Monday just how accurate these predictions are.  Considering DeAnna and I seem to have similar tastes, I think I'll be right on the money with these.
