Good news,
Bachelorette fans!
DeAnna Pappas and Jesse Csincsak are still going strong, which is more than we can say for 90% of the couples to come out of The Bachelor and
The Bachelorette. The two plan to marry in May of 2009 and fans have said that they want the wedding televised. On their official website, DeAnna and Jesse have asked fans to write in to ABC President Stephen McPherson to try to make it happen. The couple splits their times between DeAnna and Jesse’s home states of Georgia and Colorado. This month, they sat down with Jezebel magazine, based in Atlanta, about their time on and after
The Bachelorette.
Based on early impressions, DeAnna was asked to pick who she thought would be her final two on
The Bachelorette. “I thought my final two would be Graham and Jeremy, and that I would let Jason go home at final four and Jesse at final three,” she admitted. “Somewhere along the way, Jesse stepped up and kind of crossed that friendship line”
Not only was DeAnna not planning on taking Jesse to the final two initially, but she even admitted that she wasn’t 100% feeling it at first. “It was definitely not an instant attraction with Jesse. There is obviously something about him that is kind of different and cool,” she said. “I typically date the tall, dark, handsome Abercrombie model types. But when I sat down to talk with him, I realized that he is one of the coolest guys I have ever met in my life.”
A majority of
Bachelorette fans predicted, while the show was airing, that DeAnna would pick Jason Mesnick as the man she would spend the rest of her life with. The backlash was strong and the couple couldn’t help but notice. “There are all kinds of blogs on the Internet–people that write about the show, about us; there are still people that are hating us,” she told the magazine. “Obviously, it’s hard to deal with, but we try not to read those things. We can’t change everyone’s minds.”
Since the show ended this summer, the couple has been going non-stop. “We are very busy,” she said. “We have been together 24/7 nonstop since July 1. It’s hard. Relationships are hard to begin with, and ours is magnified.”
