Three months since breaking up with fiancee Vanessa Grimaldi, Bachelor
star Nick Viall is back in the dating game. The 37-year-old reality TV star turned actor, who recently appeared on the ABC comedy series Speechless
, hasn't given up on love despite his failed attempts on The Bachelorette
seasons 10 and 11, the third season of Bachelor in Paradise
and on The Bachelor
"I'm out there, we'll see what happens," Viall. who has no plans to return to the reality dating franchise, told Us Weekly
. "I'm hoping I'm lucky enough to meet someone sooner or later. If it happens, it happens."
Viall got engaged to Grimaldi at the end of season 21 but the pair called off their engagement five months after the season ended.
In a joint statement Nick and Vanessa said, "It's with a great amount of heartbreak for the both us as we have decided to end our engagement. We gave this relationship our all and we are saddened that we did not get the fairytale ending we hoped for. We will continue to be there for each other no matter what. This hasn't been an easy decision, however, as we part ways, we do so with lots of love and admiration for each other."
A few months after the split, Viall revealed that he and Grimaldi are still in each other's lives.
"I still love her very much. I'm not afraid to say that," Vaill told Us Weekly at the time. "I like to try new things, get out of my comfort zone. I know I have a lot of work to do in that arena. And it's fun to try and I always appreciate the opportunity to try new things and that's been a lot of fun."
The Bachelor season 22 premieres January 1 on ABC.
