ABC unveiled the summer schedule this week, not surprisingly jam packed with reality programs. Shows about singing, dancing, solving mysteries, competing in foreign game shows, and performing daring stunts will soon grace televisions across America. Hopeless romantics will be happy to know that among the premiere dates announced was the fourth season of
The Bachelorette, starring
DeAnna Pappas. The new season will kick off Monday, May 19th at 9pm ET.
Back in February, ABC hosted a nationwide search to find a group of intelligent, good looking, charismatic, and, most importantly, single men for DeAnna to choose from. Open casting calls were held in New York, Nashville, Los Angeles, Miami and several other cities. In total, the show hit 10 different states looking for very different men to make up the cast.
The Bachelorette also accepted video submissions from interested men.
DeAnna’s heart was broken by Brad Womack on the last season of
The Bachelor. Millions of Americans watched as he acted like he was going to propose, then got cold feet at the last minute. Womack was so sure that Pappas was the one for him that he even flew her father out for the final rose ceremony. In a special that aired afterwards, DeAnna’s heartache was evident but stated that she was a strong person who would move on.
After the finale of her season of
The Bachelor aired last year, DeAnna spoke to BuddyTV in an exclusive interview. She said, back then, that she would be open to idea of being the next Bachelorette. “I believe in the show,” she said. “I believe in the experience and I believe that you can find love. It just depends on how hard you’re willing to try at it.” Hopefully, she'll find that special someone that she has been searching for when she meets 25 eligible bachelors who all came on the show just to meet her.
