Jake Pavelka's romantic adventure on The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love officially begins on Monday, January 4, according to ABC. The commercial pilot from Dallas, Texas will finally get his chance to woo 25 women, proving that nice guys don't always finish last in love.

This will be the 14th edition of ABC's hit romance reality series and, for the first time in the history of the series, The Bachelor will be broadcast in HDTV format.

Jake, for those who are not familiar, was one of the contestants of The Bachelorette season 5, which starred Jillian Harris. During his time on the show, he shared a magical one-on-one date with Jillian to see Martina McBride and eventually became a favorite among fans for his reputation as the guy who has the complete package. However, that wasn't enough to make Jillian fall in love so he was sent home. Despite his elimination, he returned on The Bachelorette to warn Jillian about contestant Wes Hayden, who allegedly came on the show for the wrong reasons.

While Jake didn't have much luck on The Bachelorette, that hasn't stopped him from hoping to find the love of his life on The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love. This time, he hopes to find a woman who is intelligent, confident, energetic and spontaneous, and more importantly, someone who's on board with the idea of starting a family in the near future.
