It seems Andrew Firestone is soon to be a bachelor no more. In the current issue of US Weekly magazine, the former cast member of ABC’s
The Bachelor reveals that he’s ready to take the plunge with fiancé, Ivana Bozilovic. Bozilovic, originally from Serbia, is a model and actress who grew up in Chicago. She has appeared in a number of movies including
National Lampoon’s Van Wilder and
Wedding Crashers. The two have been engaged since 2007 but have decided on a July wedding date.
This is Firestone’s second engagement. The first was to Jen Schefft, who he proposed to in the third season finale of
The Bachelor. Their relationship ended abruptly in 2003. "I was going above and beyond to make it work," he told Us Weekly. "Everybody assumed it was my fault – that wasn't the case at all." Shefft did not have too much to say about Firestone’s impending nuptials but did say, “I'm happy for him. I wish them all the luck in the world." She seems to be just fine living her life as a single woman. After her relationship with Firestone ended, she penned the book Better Single Than Sorry: A No Regrets Guide to Loving Yourself and Never Settling.
As for Firestone, he’s just looking towards the future. "She makes me a better person," he said, regarding Bozilovic. "Never before have I been so gushy." He also feels that he needed to go through the relationship with Shefft to get to where he is today. "Sometimes you get hurt before you actually make it right," he observed. Their wedding is planned for July 5th at his family’s winery in Santa Ynez. Once one of the world’s most eligible bachelors, Firestone is now happy to dedicate his life to just one woman. "I can't stop smiling,” he gushed.
