With one more week to kill before the premiere of the new season of Dancing with the Stars, ABC decided to treat Bachelor fans with a two-hour 20/20 special that promised to focus on the inner ropes of the network's most popular reality dating franchise.

Sadly, Inside The Bachelor: The Stories Behind the Rose hardly qualified as "news," because it didn't reveal anything new. If anything, it only made this viewer realize just how fabricated everything is on The Bachelor.

I think Jessie Csincsak, from The Bachelorette season 4, was spot-on when he described the episode as "kind of dragging" in his Twitter page. But it was still refreshing to see The Bachelor from a different format and perspective. There was lots of audition footage, controversial highlights, unforgettable proposals, and several interviews that gave fans updates on past Bachelor and Bachelorette participants. It even served as a trip down memory lane for the series' more popular stars like Trista and Ryan Sutter, Melissa Rycroft, who served as one of the correspondents, and Jillian Harris, who, in spite of not being featured in the episode, managed to tweet about her reaction.

"Eddie and I were not officially involved in 20/20 Bachelor special as we were away on vacay when they filmed...this [episode] of 20/20 is juicy! Maybe glad I was in Hawaii while they were filming," Harris tweeted.

Though Harris was notably absent during the 20/20 special, one of her suitors on the show, Wes Hayden, found the spotlight once again for being the "villain" of The Bachelorette season 5. In an interview with Rycroft, Hayden once again denied lying about his relationship status, but when 20/20 dug up clips of his dates from the show, fans were again flooded with their anger and frustration about the country crooner, causing them to wonder anew why Harris didn't see Hayden's red flags at the time.

Was Wes Hayden Really Looking for Love?

"I did have a tough time during the show," Harris tweeted. "That is no secret... I was very stubborn. But what Ed and I have NOW is very real... I was yelling at myself too watching the show 4 the first time, I was like WHAT?! I 'did' that?!"

"He's no Ed that's for sure," Harris added, referring to Wes Hayden, who allegedly had a girlfriend when he joined the show and had ulterior motives. "But when he honky tonks on that guitar - i was SOLD! [Even though] Wes was a little turd... that hometown date in Austin was really one of the best....at the time."

Jillian Harris Insists She's a Smart Girl
