The new season of
The Bachelor, starring
Jason Mesnick, has not even started airing yet but this week, we found out how it will end. "I'm engaged!" he told People magazine today. "I found exactly what I was hoping for, what I was looking for. I'm completely in love." For Mesnick, the fairy tale ending is well-deserved, especially considering what happened the last time he got down on one knee. On last season's finale of
The Bachelorette, Mesnick thought that he was ready to start a life with
DeAnna Pappas but she did not return his feelings and rejected him on national television, in front of millions of people. Now, he says that he can't believe how much his life has changed in the last year.
Mesnick told People that he decided to return to reality television, and become
The Bachelor, in order to find a relationship and a family. "I don't want to be by myself," he admittted. However, he admitted that he was looking for more than just someone to help him raise his young son, Ty. "I was not looking for a mom," he told People. "I was looking for a partner for me and a mentor and a friend to Ty." These days, Mesnick doesn't have to worry about being alone, as he is about to start planning his dream wedding with a woman that he is in love with. "I can't believe it's this great," he gushed.
The new season of
The Bachelor will premiere on Monday, January 5, at 8pm ET. 25 very different women, from across the country, will come together and fight to capture Mesnick's heart. Jason said that he is looking for a woman who is interested in learning about the world, who loves life and can find passion in life's smallest moments. Jason has already been married once and it looks like he's ready to try again and this time, stay in it for the long haul!
