Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney's tragic reality TV love affair on The Bachelor may soon have its fairy tale ending after all. Several months after the 13th season came to an end, all judging eyes have been on the single dad love searcher and the woman whom he rekindled a relationship with after dumping Bachelor winner Melissa Rycroft. Many still think the relationship wouldn't last but Mesnick and Malaney, who have been maintaining a long distance love affair, are about to prove their detractors wrong now that they are engaged to be married.

According to People, Mesnick proposed to Malaney Tuesday night as part of a romantic weeklong trip in New Zealand. The couple stayed at the prestigious lakefront Eichardt's Private Hotel in Queenstown, a five-suite property surrounded by white-capped mountains and boasting spectacular views from the middle of the resort town. But the much awaited moment happened in the Kohara Lodge, an abode on the banks of the Shotover River, where Mesnick popped the question with a diamond and platinum ring by placing it in a glass of champagne and passing it to Malaney, who happily accepted Mesnick's proposal.

New Zealand may just be the picture perfect setting for this joyous occasion but avid Bachelor fans would recall that it was also the same place where Mesnick sent Malaney home on The Bachelor finale and proposed to Rycroft. It's as if they returned to the scene of the crime but according to a source close to the couple, Mesnick wanted to do what he should have done the last time he was there so he asked Malaney to marry him.

Meanwhile, Mesnick and Malaney aren't the only ones set to tie the knot. Mesnick's former fiance, Rycroft, is also engaged to insurance agent Tye Strickland. The couple is expected to marry on December 12.
