In just two short months,
The Bachelor will return to ABC with single dad
Jason Mesnick as the man of the hour. Mesnick was a finalist on the most recent season of
The Bachelorette and was dumped in the finale by
DeAnna Pappas. Pappas and her fiancé, Jesse Csincsak, recently ended their relationship – but more on that in a few. The new season of
The Bachelor will premiere on January 5th with a special 2 hour episode. After that, the show will return to its usual 90 minute episode format, beginning at 9:30pm ET on Monday nights. ABC will also debut a new show from the minds of Tyra Banks and Ashton Kutcher, called
True Beauty. The network is keeping details about the new show a secret but it will involve a beauty pageant and contestants who live together.
On to DeAnna and Jesse, whose breakup is being blamed partially on Hollywood, believe it or not. According to host Chris Harrison, people in the industry, mostly paparazzi “filled DeAnna's head with these dreams that she's going to come to Hollywood and make it big. I think her head's getting a little bigger than it should.” DeAnna headed to Breckenridge, CO last week to break the news to Jesse and the two agreed that they would make the announcement together this coming Thursday. DeAnna, however, decided to tip the press off instead, leaving Jesse to address the fans alone.
"They were going to release a joint statement and try and keep this above board and she went out on her own, leaked it,” Harrison told 104.3 MY FM this week. “So Jesse is just feeling a little beat up right now." Jesse handled the breakup with as much class and dignity as he could muster up, briefly explaining the details of the split for fans on the couple’s site and then refusing to say anything negative about his ex in any interviews. "She is an amazing person. She made me feel like no other," he told Extra this week. "I just want her to be happy whether it's with or without me."
