When
Andy Baldwin and
Tessa Horst announced the end of their engagement, many thought that spelled the eventual end of the road for
The Bachelor couple. After all,
The Bachelor doesn't exactly have the best matchmaking track record.
And,
as we reported, Life and Style magazine recently took this one step further, saying in its rumor mill section that Andy was once again interested in
Bevin Powers. Some gossip columnists have posited that not only is Andy not truly interested in Tessa at all, but that she is actually contractually obligated to appear in public as his girlfriend.
However, maybe the slick editing, dramatic music, and ridiculously over-the-top Rose Ceremonies have watchers of the couple looking for more intrigue than is actually occurring between the two. The statement regarding the end of the engagement might have meant just that: the two were taking a realistic step back after the excitement surrounding the show.
The two do continue to appear together as a couple,
recently at the Louisville Ironman, and now another upcoming appearance has been announced.
The couple will be participating in the Audi Best Buddies Challenge: Hearst Castle. The event is “a bicycle tour taking riders from Chateau Julien in Carmel to the Hearst Ranch in San Simeon.” It will benefit Best Buddies International, said to “a nonprofit organization [with] programs [that] engage participants in each of the 50 United States and have accredited international programs on six continents; with additional country programs under active development.”
Although Andy has stated his desire for privacy for the couple on more than one occasion, one could assume he and Tessa decided that allowing their names to be published with the other celebrities would help draw attention to the event and the cause.
The Bachelor couple is listed in the PR release along with other notables such as California's Governor and First Lady Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, Clint Eastwood, Lacey Chabert, Kim Lyons, Marla Maples, Greg German and Adrian Pasdar.
The event will take place tomorrow, Saturday, September 8, and the riders will be starting their route bright and early at 7am.
