The internet has been abuzz this week with a potential spoiler for The Bachelor: An Officer and a Gentleman. It’s hard to tell lately what is real and what is not: some folks suspect fake spoilers are leaked to help generate suspense and surprise when things don’t turn out the way the predictions went.

That said, for this week’s edition of Ring or Fling, I’m just going to make my recommendations based on the information within the show itself, as I know some people don’t like spoilers and want to wait to watch the show itself to see the outcome. (These are also probably the kind of people who were always able to wait for dessert. If you’re like me, and like to know as soon as possible the outcome of things, you can read BuddyTV’s coverage of the spoiler here.) But for my unspoiled opinion about things, click through to find this week’s picks and to leave your own thoughts on who is the right gal for Andy Baldwin.

So this week, the pick for Ring, the woman I think he should end up with?

RING

Yes, I’m back to Tessa Horst. Last week I was feeling a little uncertain about the fit, wondering if her more reserved nature would be a good match for someone as plain-spoken as Andy. But this episode, in addition to her warming up to him even more, she also had a chance to show again that goofy, silly side that was highlighted in the first few episodes, and that seems to be a good match with Andy’s happy-go-lucky nature.

Additionally – and again, this could all be editing, and it is all just conjecture on any viewers part as to what was really happening – but it really does seem like he is most smitten with her. He has connection and chemistry with other women, but with Tessa, there is – for lack of a better term – a sense that he is a little gaga over her in a way I just haven’t quite seen with the other women.

And a small possible clue (if you are into conspiracy theory type stuff)? One of our eagle-eyed commenters, Ali, left a comment on The Bachelor: An Officer and a Gentleman Episode 6’s Ring or Fling noting how Andy had on more than one occasion singled out Tessa by saying “Tessa, will you please accept this rose?” saying that she hadn’t noticed him saying “please” to the other women. I hadn’t noticed this at all, but then tonight: no “please” for Bevin, but sure enough, “Tessa, will you please accept this rose?” Who knows? This might not mean anything at all, but this is ABC, home of Lost. Maybe the whole “look for hidden clues to figure out the show” thing is spreading to other programs. Okay, I know: it’s a stretch!

And so that means, by default, Ms. Bevin Powers is our Fling.

FLING

She really has grown on me over the past few episodes, and her willingness to open her heart and give love a try is admirable. But somehow I just have a feeling that Andy is not convinced that their strong chemistry is enough. Also, his comment to his friend about how much more “liberal” she is than him, and how she was a “wild child” makes me wonder if he is truly able to see her as a settling-down type. She seems ready to make that commitment, but if he’s not convinced, he might think of her as an exciting fling (no pun intended), but not lifelong partner material.
