I can't help but compare this season's Bachelor to last season's Bachelorette. Both involved Jake Pavelka (only this time Jake is this season's love searcher), both had some kind of villain (last season it was Wes, this season it's Vienna), and both featured a contestant warning the love searcher about another contestant (Jake ratted Wes out last season and got a taste of his own medicine when several girls warned him about Vienna). But the most intense "dejavu" I got was when another bachelorette decided to leave the show for work related reasons. It's like watching Ed and Jillian all over again!
Last night on
The Bachelor, Jake dealt with another shocker after meeting with the families of his four remaining hopefuls.

The Bachelorette 5, Ali decided to choose her career over love and ultimately left the show. Now I don't know if Ali, like Ed, is going to come back later and win Jake's heart. But at this point, I'm assuming that she won't.
Did Ali make the right decision?
Based on our poll, it looks like about 50 percent of our readers think that choosing career over love is the right thing to do. After all, it's a practical decision considering the economy and the fact that Jake cannot really guarantee he'll choose her in the end.
On the other hand, Ali should have taken her shot and stayed in the running, especially after admitting that she would say "yes" to him if he asked him to marry her so that should have counted for something. Considering Jake's remaining bachelorettes, I also can't help but feel that Ali is now "the one that got away."
