The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love finale just ended, and now it's time for the After the Final Rose special, in which Bachelor host Chris Harrison catches up with the rejectee, the happy couple, and next season's Bachelorette.

Let's get right down to it.

Chris Harrison welcomes the crowd and brings Tenley out to talk about her final moments in St. Lucia. She says she was confused when he let her go, and didn't understand what was missing in their relationship.

Why didn't it work? She sees that Jake is more playful with Vienna than with her, even though she is a playful person also.

Did they lack chemistry? Not as far as she was concerned. She always felt a spark between them.

Chris brings out Jake to talk to Tenley. They hug, and there seems to be no love lost between them. "You smell so good!" she says. That's a little creepy.

Tenley asks Jake what was missing between them: "There was nothing wrong. There's still nothing wrong. Putting myself back there, that day, I guess I was exploring and pushing so hard because I wanted that magical spark to be there."

Why did you have an emotional breakdown on the boat? "I wanted that little spark to be there for Tenley so bad. [...] It's unexplainable. You know what that last day felt like? It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life."

Tenley asks, "Was it unfair to Vienna that you were so attached to me?" Jake says, "It was just that magical spark that I can't explain. Vienna and I have that spark that you and I didn't. [...] My heart still hurts for you. [...] I will always love you, no matter what. [...] You absolutely have a life-friend."

Chris compliments Tenley for being one of the "nicest, sweetest women" they've ever had on the show.

More of Jake talking about how bad he feels about hurting Tenley... yadda, yadda yadda.

Then comes the meat: Jake talks about Vienna! "Vienna's my baby. I have never had this much heat in a relationship. It's like a fairy tale every day."

What it is about her? "Compassion and protection. She is all of those and more. She is the kindest, most gentle person."

What does it mean that you wanted to take a risk? "What I wanted to do was date out of my comfort zone."

How does it make you feel to know Vienna wasn't the popular choice? "I know that girl. I know her heart. I know her motives. I know her values. [...] She is the best girl for me."

Chris welcomes "Jake's soulmate," Vienna.

Vienna shows off her ring to Chris. "Well done!" he says.

What's the first thing you want to do in public? "Walk outside! Little things, like going to dinner together."

How tough is it to keep a secret? "It's been really hard. I want to scream it from the rooftops."

How did you feel that final day of the proposal? "It was just magical. My fantasy, everything I'd ever wanted in life, I was walking up to."

Did Jake doubt whether she'd say yes? "Yes, I was thinking she probably would. It's a two-way street, it always is."

What happened with the tabloids, who haven't been kind to you? "It's been extremely difficult. The tabloids have been coming up with these fabricated stories. [...] America's been getting this image of me, and it's not me."

Jake: "They're painting a picture of her that she has no values, and that she's a miserable person, and none of that is true. [...] It's okay if people don't understand why I'm with Vienna, because I do."

jakevienna-atfr-3.jpgJake and Vienna's Future Plans

What does the immediate future hold? "Vienna's going to move to Dallas immediately." - Jake

What will it be like to live together? "I'm excited to get started." - Jake

How about a wedding? "We haven't set a date just yet. We want to get acclimated in Dallas."- Jake

"Have some normalcy in our life for a little while." - Vienna

vienna-jake-dance-atfr.jpgChris tells Jake and Vienna they are going back to St. Lucia, where their love began, for a stay at the romantic resort where Jake proposes.

But wait, there's more... Jeffrey Osbourne (who?) is here to perform his song, "On the Wings of Love." (Oh, that's who!) Vienna and Jake dance. And I get a quick break from blogging for three straight hours.

The Next Bachelorette

The new Bachelorette is... Ali Fedotowsky!

(Don't tell me you didn't see that coming.)

ali-bachelorette.jpgHow excited are you? "I'm so excited. I'm so thrilled and honored and grateful."

America has fallen for you. "It's just nice to be supported. I feel so blessed and thankful."

Has it sunk in yet? "I felt scared at first. I'm not going to let my fear dictate my life anymore. [...] I'm not going to make the same mistake I made last time. I'm going for it!"

What are you looking for? "First, I want 50 guys, not 25! [...] I want a funny, smart, kind of quirky guy. I'm not looking for a particular type of guy, I'm looking for a feeling."

Look out for Ali's Bachelorette season, which will premiere in May. Single guys who can handle some sass from a cute blonde: go over to ABC.com and apply today!

Well that's it for The Bachelor: After the Final Rose. I hope you enjoyed flying so high "on the wings of love" tonight, and congratulations to Jake and Vienna, who truly look to be in love, despite their many doubters.

Tomorrow morning Jake, Vienna and Tenley will join the media for a conference call, and I'll be on it. Have any questions for the happy couple or the runner-up? Leave them in the comments, and I'll try to oblige.
