Back at the mansion, all the other women sit around in their pajamas discussing who Jason will pick on his two-on-one date. Ya'll, Naomi really doesn't look as good without makeup on.
It's finally time for Jason to choose. He picks up the rose and addresses both Stephanie and Nikki, explaining how much he appreciates both of them. Then he gives the rose to Stephanie, who gives her rival a sympathetic look. Jason walks her out to the limo with lots of words of consolation. Alone in the limo, Nikki beats herself up for not being smart enough, pretty enough or good enough. And doggone it, Jason didn't like her enough. Stephanie and Jason dance an encore waltz, this time without Nikki hovering by, that ends with a kiss.
The next evening, everyone is dressed up for the cocktail party and Rose Ceremony. Jason shows up and toasts everyone to a fun party. It's Jillian's first Rose Ceremony without a rose, and she's actually been pretty absent this whole episode. She gets the first private conversation with him, and Jason is pleased at how well she is coping with having to share him with a gaggle of other women. Melissa is looking much more confident right now than she did the night of the group date, and she explains how much she likes him and is falling for him. He leans over and gives her a big, passionate kiss that goes almost horizontal.
Megan is wearing strange dress consisting of tiers of fabric. It has a pretty high neck, too. Silly, Megan. How is she supposed to make a good impression unless she shows off her boobs? Maybe like Stephanie, who is veritably busting out of her dress. Also, it seems like Megan's taking a page out of Melissa's playbook and acting a little bit insecure around Jason.
Next, Jason sits down next to Shannon and Lauren. Dude, I would not get on Shannon's bad side because she really does seem like a stalker. Lauren threatens to slap Jason for not giving her the rose on the group date. Then, she basically demands a kiss too. Of course, he doesn't give her one. This is so excruciating.
The Bachelor Rose Ceremony:
Molly, Naomi and Stephanie already have roses. Jason gives roses to Melissa and Jillian. He only has one more rose to give, and after a dramatic pause, he stops, puts it down and says that he can't give out the final rose. He compliments the three women left (Megan, Lauren and Shannon) but says that he can't lead anyone on. He thinks they are all wonderful people, but he doesn't see any of them as forever. Woah, just when I've lost all faith in humanity, Jason actually does the right thing. I think this is absolutely the right thing for him to do. It's curtains for the mean one, the bitchy one and the crazy one!
Next week on
The Bachelor, Jason takes the five remaining women to Seattle. Yay, Seattle!
