Season 8 of
The Bachelor gave us Dr. Travis Stork, an ER doctor. The good looking doctor was one smart guy, graduating magna cum laude from Duke University and earning his MD at the University of Virginia. Like all men who go on
The Bachelor, though, Travis just couldn't find the right woman to settle down with. He ended up meeting Sarah Stone on the show, a school teacher who lived, coincidentally, just blocks from his Nashville home. Due to contractual obligations stating that the two couldn't speak until the entire season aired, his romance with Sarah fizzled out as quickly as it had began, like many
Bachelor couples do. He's tried to keep his fifteen minutes of fame going by penning a new book and heading out on the road for a nationwide book tour.
Stork has penned a new book entitled "Don't be That Girl: A Guide to Finding the Confident, Rational Girl Within”. In an interview with WKRN/Nashville, when asked why he decided to write this particular book, he said, "At the end of the day, I realized that I could write a book and explain the male perspective and why we do some of the things we do."
A regular on The Dr. Phil Show, he was a guest last week to promote his book. There, he described the types of girls you don't want to be: The Agenda Girl, The Yes Girl, The Drama Queen Girl, The Bitter Girl, The Insecure Girl, The Desperate Girl, The Working Girl, or The Lost Girl. Stork told Dr. Phil that he learned a lot being The Bachelor. "I think that when you’re the bachelor, you’re forced to constantly observe women and try to figure out ‘Is what they’re doing endearing or not endearing? Are they sincere or are they insincere?’” he said.
Stork kicked off a national book tour that started January 8 in New York City. At his appearances, he reads excerpts from the book, meets fans, and of course, signs copies of the book. Upcoming dates include: January 16 in Chicago, January 17 in Dallas, and January 19 in Denver.
