The Bachelor season 21 may have ended but the drama is far from over for newly engaged couple Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi. During the After the Final Rose special, the pair didn't exactly paint a rosy picture about their relationship, admitting that it hasn't been easy. And though they insist that they are in love and that they are confident in what they have, Bachelor Nation isn't buying it.

Former Bachelorette star Emily Maynard even pointed out that Nick and Vanessa's relationship mirrors her relationship with her ex-fiance (Bachelor star Brad Womack).

Despite what other people are saying, both Nick and Vanessa insist that they are really in love.

"The After the Final Rose had a heavy tone to it," Nick admitted to The Insider. "We made a conscious choice to not like show up and be like 'oh my god'... things are great but also this hasn't been the easiest."

"We're very optimistic about the future but it's just we are very realistic about real life," added Vanessa, who describes Nick as "cautiously optimistic."

In a press call with reporters, the Bachelor couple also explained why they are not rushing to walk down the aisle.

"We're just being realistic about our relationship. We're not a couple that's known each other for a year before -- we're going to walk before we run, so to speak," Viall explained. "Every couple before us feels the pressure. That pressure exists. There's no denying that. Vanessa and I are not pretending that we don't have our challenges ahead of us. We're going to give it our best shot and we're going to treat each other with respect. We're going to put each other first."

Do you think Nick and Vanessa will make it?
