Sarah Brice and Charlie O'Connell have been listed as one of
The Bachelor's success stories since their time on the seventh season of that show. But, as we reported in
our recent Rewind of that season, rumors have been circulating lately that the two had broken up, even though Charlie's brother Jerry stated the contrary after his own summer wedding.
But it is, in fact, apparently true - they are yet another couple to head to the breakup column for
The Bachelor's overall track record.
So who gets custody of the dog?
Sarah will be keeping the dog, Lucy, but it sounds like Charlie will have plenty of opportunity to visit. She says she is still "best friends" with Charlie and that the two "love each other a lot."
She also says "I definitely thought I'd spend the rest of my life with him - I think we both did - but there were some things between us that we couldn't resolve."
It turns out that this breakup isn't exactly breaking news. "We split a few months ago - it was a clean breakup, nothing out of control," Sarah said. So apparently the rumors - at least recent ones - were correct.
The fact that the breakup was able to happen and months pass before it was officially confirmed is either a testament to the tight-lipped duo, or a sign that after time passes, interest in
The Bachelor couples might wane. Many
Andy Baldwin and
Tessa Horst have commented lately on forums and fansites that if the couple will work things out, they would have a better chance of it if people would leave them alone and give them some privacy. With the public nature of Andy's athletic endeavors, this might not be possible, but Sarah and Charlie's story shows that with time, the glare of the spotlight can lessen.
