After the New York Post reportedly
revealed the winner of
The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman earlier this month, fans have speculated on whether this rumor could possibly be true, as the source was not exactly known for its reliablility. Now it turns out that ABC themselves may have released a spoiler during a video presentation at the upfronts in New York this week.
Many news outlets, including the New York Times, are reporting that it is indeed a spoiler for the end of the currently-running tenth season of the series.
Read on for more details.
During the upfronts, which announce the primetime shows that the network will run next season, ABC presented a video composed of clips of currently running shows. Reportedly this included a scene of
The Bachelor’s
Andy Baldwin kissing
Tessa Horst after the final rose ceremony.
“The montage of ABC’s triumphs just showed Officer Andy kissing Tessa. And if you don’t know what that means — the embrace — ignore it; but if you do, you’re a very loyal ABC fan, and yes it was a spoiler. At least I assume it was. Sorry about that,” wrote New York Times TV critic Virginia Heffernan, who attended the upfronts.
Reportedly ABC has “confirmed” that this was a spoiler, though this itself might just be a rumor.
As the earlier Post rumor also announced that Tessa was the winner, it seems more and more likely at this point that it might be true. However, the Post also said that she’d turned down Andy’s proposal, while ABC this week denied that, saying they were happily engaged.
What if all of this is just misdirection? What do you think? Is it definitely Tessa, or does

The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman this Monday, May 21. ABC will also be running an “After the Final Rose” special on Tuesday, May 22.
