The BuddyTV 'Celebrity Apprentice' Round Table #1

The Celebrity Apprentice is three episodes in and I think we can all agree that, even if the show is a bit of a train wreck, it's an entertaining one.  The series continues its best ratings in years.  Given how atypical Celebrity Apprentice is compared to past editions, we at BuddyTV decided to invite some former contestants to come and discuss the Celebrity Apprentice.  Thus was born the BuddyTV Apprentice Round Table.  Our first edition, recorded today, brought back three fan favorites from The Apprentice: Los AngelesJames Sun, Carey Sherrell and Derek Arteta.  We all got together on a conference call and, simply, discussed The Celebrity Apprentice, their reactions to the overall idea, and what their thoughts were on the season thus far.  What we got was some nice inside information, some genuine insight and a whole lot of unwavering opinions.

Below you will find the full mp3 audio of the round table discussion.

Nicole D'Ambrosio and Jenn Hoffman were both supposed to be on the conference call, but both had last minute conflicts that they couldn't get out of.  Hopefully, we'll get to speak with them on later Apprentice Round Tables.

Carey's outlook on the Celebrity Apprentice is one I'm sure that countless viewers share – outside of Omarosa, he literally didn't know who any of the other people on the show were.  James didn't know who half of the celebrities were, though Derek was pretty familiar with the entire cast.  In fact, Derek actually was a representative for Nely Galan some years ago, knew her well and vouches for her.  This is interesting, because it makes him one of about 12 people in the US who had heard of Nely before the season started.

Carey is actually good friends with Omarosa and talks to her after every episode.  He had some inside info that he wasn't at liberty to share.  The most interesting piece of inside information given by the three men was from Derek, who actually watched last night's episode with former Apprentice: LA contestant and Playboy model Kristine Lefebvre.  According to one of her sources, the second Gene Simmons arrived on set and saw who the other celebrities who showed up were, he had a death wish.  He was by far the most famous person there and didn't want to spend too much time with the half celebs.  So, he sabotaged himself, which makes his actions last night much more understandable.

Do you think Gene tried to sabotage himself last night?
Yes
