NBC Moves 'The Celebrity Apprentice's' Premiere Date...Again
First, NBC announced that they were moving The Apprentice: Celebrity Edition's premiere back one week, from January 3 to January 10, to avoid college football and the final pre-strike episode of Grey's Anatomy.  Yesterday, ABC announced that it was moving the final pre-strike episode of Grey's Anatomy back one week to January 10 to take on The Celebrity Apprentice's premiere.  Today, the dance continues.  NBC is moving the premiere of The Celebrity Apprentice back to its original air date, Thursday, January 3.

Variety reports that this silly little game may continue, and that ABC could decide to move Grey's Anatomy back to January 3.  Doesn't this all seem a little childish?  I suppose ABC can gain from NBC's misfortunes, and if they can take some steam out of Celebrity Apprentice's first episode, it may never recover.  The first episode of a reality show is extremely important in pulling viewers in and keeping them interested for an entire season.  You can rest assured that NBC will be hyping up Celebrity Apprentice whenever and wherever they can over the next couple weeks as the premiere approaches.  However, if Grey's Anatomy and Apprentice go head to head, Grey's is going to destroy Trump.

New NBC head Ben Silverman isn't well-liked among his his fellow television executives – they generally seem him as a brash, arrogant outsider.  Silverman has had no problem discussing the shortcomings of the other networks and, especially, their presidents.  I wonder if ABC just feels like sticking it Silverman and one of his first pet projects at NBC (The Celebrity Apprentice).  Otherwise, I don't see why the two networks couldn't just agree on air dates for both shows.  We'll see if ABC decides to move Grey's up to January 3 once again either this weekend or some time next week.  My hunch is that ABC will end this game right now and leave Grey's where it is.
