How shocked were you in the boardroom when Derek just got fired on the spot?

You know, it’s funny because I was more shocked because it was screwing up my strategy.  I knew Derek was coming after me because he was in an alliance with Muna [Heaven] and Angela [Ruggiero].  Angela and I had always gotten along really great and still do; I knew I was going to have to go back to her and Derek.  So I very purposefully paired her and Derek together for the marketing part of the task, thinking they would implode, and they did.  So, I thought I’ll just take Angela into the Boardroom, I won’t let Derek know because I don’t owe him anything.

So basically, when Trump fired Derek after talking about being white trash, my plan was screwed.  I was like “God, now I can’t take Derek into the Boardroom and have him and Angela turn on each other, which was my plan because they had been fighting so much that I knew they would argue, and I thought maybe both of them would get fired.  So the second Derek was fired, I thought, “Oh shit.  There goes my plan.”  That’s when I thought, “Oh it’s just a reality show, it was a job interview but you know you’re totally about to get fired so just suck it up and have a good laugh and let Trump do his little Cobra and fire you and feel good about himself because he just fired someone else and have fun with it.”

Last week when I talked Aimee [Trottier], she said that Trump just straight-up would not fire Angela, because of her Olympic background; do you think that played a role in you getting fired last night?  That Trump was just not willing to fire her?

Absolutely.  Well, Aimee already told you what happened last week where Aimee expressed interest to Mr. Trump in having Angela fired.  She actually blamed a good portion of last week’s task on Angela’s failure.   And then, the same thing happened again to me this week.  Angela actually dropped the ball, big time.  As much as I love the girl, she’s tremendous and she could be the season winner, she could be the person that could win, the past two tasks she has totally sucked.  Trump wasn’t having any of it.  At least he acknowledged it during my task and in my boardroom, because Aimee kind of got the shaft.  He didn’t even acknowledge Angela’s failures there.  Aimee was actually put at a disadvantage because she was unable to identify the proper person to be fired so therefore, I actually think Aimee should have been fired for her performance, but it kind of sucks that she wasn’t able to also have someone else share in the blame.

The Hispanic thing with Derek and I was lame, we clearly weren’t going to get fired over that but she actually had a leg to stand on with Angela with the marketing and the signage.  As I did too.  So I am glad that Trump at least acknowledged that Angela shared responsibility; I wasn’t like a dismal disaster.  The other team put forth an A effort and we put forth a B effort.

What do you think you could have done differently to avoid the firing?

Well you know, I think I could have been a bigger bitch.  Honestly, I think my biggest problem and the reason why I wasn’t fired is because I said, “Right now, I’m just here to have a good time, I don’t want to be one of those people that goes out hating the world, declaring that this is an injustice and that the editors and the producers and Donald Trump screwed me!”  I mean, it is what it is. It’s a job interview, crossed with a show, crossed with a circus.  So in the end when I didn’t win, I think part of it was because I wasn’t as ruthless as I could have been.  Every single person on Kinetic is 100 percent for themselves, ruthless and have absolutely no regard for the word “team”.   Which is fine, and I love everyone on Kinetic so I’m not going to start putting them down.  It just is what it is.  Everyone on Kinetic is every man for themselves.  Whereas everyone on Arrow, they’re there every man for themselves. but in a team environment.

Any plans for the future that you might like to tell us about?

Oh yeah, I’m going to take over the world.  Well, first of all, I am rallying for an Apprentice All-Stars.  They will do an Apprentice All Star cast and I promise to come back and cut every single person’s throat there.  I promise to be the next person hired.   In all reality, I’m going back into PR right now, I’ve also been a television reporter and a television show host so I’ve had a few new offers for that, so that's got me really excited.  Also, my website is jennhoffman.com and I will be posting my demo reels on there, as well as updates and tidbits from the show and pictures to check out so I invite everybody to swing on by!
