If modern day tai-pan, Donald Trump, could have had his way, he would have wanted fiery financial analyst and commentator, Jim Cramer, among his stable of contestants for his upcoming
The Apprentice: Celebrity Edition. As it stands now, the Donald will have to settle for having the
Mad Money host at his side as one of the judges for at least one episode of the competition.
To date, the celebrities who will be tested for their business acumen and entrepreneurial savvy include a retired heavyweight boxer, a former
UFC fighter, a
WWE wrestler, an actress past her prime, a supermodel dating a younger
NHL star, a KISS band member, a Baldwin brother and a former first season
Apprentice contender.
When Donald Trump first envisioned the seventh installment of
The Apprentice as a celebrity edition, he was throwing around high-profile names like tabloid fodders Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton as possible candidates. According to TMZ recently, the latest list of celebrity participants for
The Apprentice: Celebrity Edition does not include any of the three party girls. Neither does it include Jim Cramer of
Mad Money and The Street, although the journalist, broadcaster and one time hedge fund manager has reportedly agreed to appear in at least one episode as a member of the panel of judges.
Although Cramer's
Apprentice appearance alongside Donald and daughter, Ivanka, in the Trump boardroom is so far limited to just one outing, the self-made, volatile and wacky financial guru has expressed eagerness at the prospect of joining additional installments of the
The Apprentice: Celebrity Edition, which is currently being filmed.
"I'd do anything," Cramer told Broadcasting & Cable. "If they wanted me to carry a sign on the set, I'd do it."
In the meantime, whether it be for one or more episodes, Cramer is likely to infuse excitement and life into the waning and fading
Apprentice franchise. After all, stock market tips and forecasts have never sounded as catchy and entertaining as when Cramer delivers them with his impassioned “Booyah” on
Mad Money.
