An ex-NFL football player and his estranged wife.  Perfect combination for a reality show, correct? Ken and Tina are an older couple who have been separated for nine months, living on different coasts, and now they want to get back together.  It sounds like Ken cheated on Tina (or, at least that's what it sounds like on The Amazing Race 13 promo), but now they will attempt to use The Amazing Race 13 as a venue to get their marriage back on track.  W.ich, to be quite honest, is counter-intuitive.  The Amazing Race puts stress on any relationship, let alone a fractured one.  Oh, and Ken is an ex-NFL football player, if that does anything for you.  In our continued coverage of each and every team on The Amazing Race 13, I present to you Ken and Tina. 

Occupations: Ken is a 51 year old home builder.  He used to play football.  Tina is a 48 year old Executive Search Firm President, whatever that means.  She's a CEO. 

Recent Team They're Similar To:  Just for the heck of it, let's go with Nathan and Jennifer from last season, just in case Ken and Tina are at each other's throats all season long.

Relationship: Separated couple

Chances to Win:  Better than you would expect.  The couple is well-traveled, intelligent and physically able.  They might be getting up there in age, but that's of little concern because both Ken and Tina are in good shape.  If in-fighting is kept to a minimum, Ken and Tina could become the oldest Race winners ever. 

Initial Thoughts:  Ken is going to be great at any of the physical challenges.  That goes without saying.  They have an easy rapport, and at least in their interview, there appeared to be very little tension between the two.  It's hard to know what to really infer from the video on an inter-personal level.  The “separated couple trying to patch things up via The Amazing Race” is a bizarre situation.  Tina seems like a smart cookie, though her surgically “enhanced” face is somewhat off-putting.  They've traveled all over the world, they seem intelligent, and nothing is going to slow them down physically.  It's hard not to like Ken and Tina's chances.
