Born in Lincoln, New Zealand on May 31, 1967, Philip John Keoghan is an Emmy Award-winning television personality best known for hosting the American version of The Amazing Race on CBS since its debut in 2001. He began his career in the entertainment industry at the age of 19, when he auditioned for the New Zealand children's show Spot On. He was completing a TV cameraman apprenticeship when he got into the show. After gaining experience as a television presenter in New Zealand, he headed to the United States to further pursue his career in entertainment.
In 2003, Keoghan co-hosted Best of Both Worlds and the Miss World Beauty Pageant. A year later he appeared in the television series No Opportunities Wasted and the special, 50 Most Outrageous TV Moments. He appeared as guest on Live with Regis and Kathie Lee and presented in 2005's 31st Annual People's Choice Awards. In the same year, he appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and The Tony Danza Show. In 2006, he briefly shared the screen with Rachael Ray. Since 2001, Keoghan has hosted all eleven seasons of The Amazing Race, which has led him to travel the world.
Aside from being a host, he has also co-created and co-produced a few projects such as Keoghan's Heroes, his own internationally distributed series and Phil Keoghan's Adventure Crazy, a primetime cable series which became one of the highest-rated series on the Travel Channel in the U.S. His other television credits include extreme sports show Go For It, morning show Fox After Breakfast and the 1998 Film Festival Awards. He also co-hosted the CBS special, Surprise, Surprise.
Philip Keoghan currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and daughter.
