Exclusive Interview: Azaria and Hendekea Azaria Azene and Hendekea Azene appear together as one of the contestant pairs in the 12th season of the Emmy Award-winning CBS competitive reality television series The Amazing Race. They are a brother and sister duo, with Azaria the older one at 27 years old while his sister Hendekea is 23 years old. He is a facilities engineer who hails from New Orleans, LA, while his sibling is an aerospace engineer who comes from Torrance, CA. They have been described as possessing all of the smarts and abilities vital to prevailing in the competition, yet their downfall may be the differences in their personalities.
Hendekea has called her older brother emotional and prone to confrontation, while he says that she’s irrational. However, they both similarly fear that their tendency to argue and get dragged into sibling rivalry conflict may hurt their chances of winning. Azaria’s job as a facilities engineer takes him to locations such as offshore platforms, and in a similar vein, he also enjoys constructing things in his spare time, as well as games of poker and athletic activities. He claims that their main difference is that he isn’t averse to the concept of physical labor. On the other hand, Hendekea recalls that he used to tease her quite often back during their high school days.
