Tom (
Joel Gretsch) rushes home to confront Kyle (
Chad Faust) but he is not home, he calls him at the cabin and asks him to come home. Cassie shows up and gives him some cryptic directions, telling him it is time to move on. Isabel shows up and he tells her it is time to leave. The confrontation between Tom and Kyle is on ice for the time being.
Maia (
Conchita Campbell) has a nightmare where she is in a line of people with yellow armbands marked with P's. Turns out she has been having the dream for a while, people with abilities being rounded up and carted off to fortified prisons.
Tom goes asks Diana (
Jacqueline McKenzie) to cover for him while he looks for Kyle. He doesn't tell her why he is looking for Kyle, which could turn out to be a huge mistake. Turns out Cassie's directions led straight to Jordan Collier (Billy Campbell) who is now intent on getting Promicin into Tom.
Kyle shows Jordan the prophecy. He is not thrilled at all to see Isabel. Jordan is uncompelled by the prophecy, but Collier doesn't believe he is a Messiah. Kyle has definitely had his share of the Kool-aid, talking about Jordan taking them to God and the Promised land, and while Jordan might not believe the prophecy, he is definitely liking the effect it is having on Kyle.
Tom winds up in a small town diner and inquires about Kyle. Nobody has seen him, so he leaves, but not before about 50 people try to convince him to try the pie. He winds up visiting a gas station and finds what he believes to be Kyle's car under a cover. The mechanic denies it and the Sheriff shows up with a pack of locals and tells Tom it is time to move on. Tom returns to the town on foot and discovers that everyone in the town has abilities. The town folk are on to him, and he winds up in a foot chase with a mob behind him.
Turns out that Jordan is also holed up in the same town. Kyle tells him that Tom is on the list, Jordan is intrigued. Tom takes one of the locals hostage and demands to be taken to Kyle.
Turns out Shawn's (
Patrick Flueger) political struggles are connected to Maia's nightmares. One of his harshest critics is using Shawn's controversial city council run for his own political gain, and in the dark future that Maia is seeing in her dreams, the same man is president.
Tom winds up being captured by Collier and company, and outfitted with a tracking bracelet. The town belongs entirely to Jordan. Jordan tries to convince Tom that the town is the model of a better world. He meets a woman who is apparently able to extract fear and anxiety by talking to someone. He takes her test and falls into sort of a happy go lucky state. Next thing we know he is eating some pie.
Tom starts to develop telepathic abilities. Seems the pie is laced with a special ingredient that allows the community to share one mind. He goes on a time trip through various peoples memories, then winds up in one of his own before the drug wears off. Tom comes down feeling like he knows everyone in the town. When he gets back to the woman's home, Kyle is waiting. He immediately tries to convince Tom to take the shot. Later, Jordan debriefs Kyle. Jordan is concerned about whether or not Tom will take the shot willingly. Kyle tells Jordan he is OK with forcing Tom to take the shot. The next day, Tom gives Kyle the bad news he will not take the shot.
Jordon shows up with his crew and an injector. Tom is given the Promicin shot. He wakes up and the town is deserted. Back at head quarters, it turns out that Tom is negative for Promicin.
Jordan and Kyle talk, it turns out that Jordan had convinced Kyle to allow Tom to choose. Jordan now must decide what to do with the people from the town. He gathers them and tells them they are going to Seattle.
