The 100 has no shortage of strong-minded or independent characters. Two of the standouts so far have been Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) on Earth and Raven (Lindsey Morgan) on the Ark. Octavia's fearless despite living hidden under the floor boards for most of her life. And, Raven's a brilliant mechanic who pushed for answers until she got them.

Both actresses spoke to reporters from set about their strong-willed characters. Check out the video interviews and highlights.

Marie Avgeropoulos Interview

Highlights from the interview:

  • Octavia wants to figure things out on her own, but she does value Bellamy's opinion.
  • The "snake" under the water was an affect of the nuclear fallout.
  • There will be power struggles and fights within the group, but the elements and "something in the bushes is out to get them."
  • Octavia was a hidden child. When she was found, her mother was killed and she was jailed.
  • Octavia does show vulnerabilities and has difficult decisions to make. She'll make alliances as the group splits.
  • Clarke and her are "ying and yang."

Lindsey Morgan Interview

Highlights from the interview:

  • Raven's a progeny when it comes to engineering. Youngest to reach the highest level.
  • She'll interact primarily with Abby and Nigel.
  • There's a class system on the Ark and she's in a lower level. She's not a fan of the council or Chancellor. She doesn't trust them and takes care of herself.
  • They don't know what's going on down on Earth. That makes her nervous.
  • "She's ballsy."
  • "Sometimes the President needs a mechanic."
  • Raven has a romantic life, but she's tough.
  • She's close to one character ... that's a secret for now.
The 100 airs Wednesdays at 9 pm ET on the CW.
