That's Amore: Domenico Nesci Looks Back at His Reality TV Journey

That's Amore - Domenico NesciDomenico Nesci has come a long way from being a strong contender in MTV's A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila to being the star of his very own reality dating series, That's Amore.  In the course of more or less two years, Domenico has become one of today's most adorable and charming reality TV personalities.

Earlier this year, we all got a chance to delve deeper in the life of our 26-year-old lover boy with MTV's dating game, That's Amore.  There, he attempted to mend his not-so-broken heart following his departure from A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, where he was eliminated in the seventh episode.  After only six episodes of the Italian dating series, Domenico has successfully found the girl of his dreams.  A new journey has begun with Domenico and his girl Megan Mirilovich, but before he walks away from his reality TV journey, he sits down to talk about his experiences.

Domenico was previously dismissed by Tila on A Shot at Love because she thought that he wasn't bonding well with her.  In fact, he was bonding very well with the contestants instead!  He eventually established himself as one of the most memorable figures in A Shot of Love, and upon dismissal, most of the other contenders became quite emotional.

"It makes me feel like people understand me now, finally," Domenico said of his experience on A Shot at Love.  "When you're just yourself, that is the best compliment.  Seeing them cry when I saw the episode made me cry too.  I didn't know that they were crying because I left and when I saw the actual episode, it made me really emotional because it was like, wow, those people they really liked me at the end."

It seems like Domenico really did make an impact on the rest of the Shot at Love contenders, as he admits to having found new friends whom he still stays in contact with.

"It was such a different experience and we need somebody to share the same thing so that's probably why I still talk to them," he says.

Apparently, Domenico's crazy experiences were yet to be followed by another reality dating game, That's Amore.

"First of all I thought they were crazy," Domenico said about MTV asking him to take on a show for himself.  "I thought right away about love, about the fact that I need somebody in my life and I've been suffering in my life for a long time and now I feel like I'm ready to go and give a chance to love again.  Give a chance to have somebody next to me.  That's why I was excited about the idea because I was excited about the idea of loving somebody again."

Domenico did eventually find his true love, and she came in the form of 24-year-old Pennsylvanian Megan Mirilovich.  Following the reality series, the two are still together, and their relationship going strong.

As for his experiences on That's Amore, Domenico says that the show was very diverse, thus giving him a lot of insights.

"It's a mix of a lot of things- not just a reality show," he says.  "It's a soap sometimes or like a sitcom sometimes.  It's a mix of many elements to make that show.  I don't know, I went there with all my love hoping to find love.  I'm really happy about the whole thing."

Moreover, when it came to the depth of the experience, he says that he felt more for That's Amore because it was his show.

"If Tila was deep, this time was three hundred times deeper because this time it was me looking for love," he says.  "When it comes down to love, it's always something important.  I didn't want to make any mistakes."

As for his future plans in reality TV, Domenico hints that he may be open to the endless possibilities that his newfound television career could bring.

"Doing a reality show is like sending messages to people and this is a message of love and expression of feelings," Domenico says.  "If I have a chance to send messages like this again, I wouldn't mind doing something else."
