At least it's something.  Ever since the two-hour season one finale of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles aired, fans have been waiting for some news – Will The Sarah Connor Chronicles return for a second season?  The series was well-received by critics and fans alike, though the ratings weren't eye-popping.  However, given the amount of press and publicity FOX put into The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and how big the Terminator franchise is, you'd hope that they'd renew the series for at least one more season.  Well, if we are to believe E! Online writer and gossip guru Kristin Veitch, then Terminator is indeed coming back to FOX next season. 

In her E! Online column, Veitch reports that Terminator will likely be back next season and producers are already pitching season 2 story ideas to the suits at FOX.  She also cites a conversation she had with Thomas Dekker, who plays John Connor.  Dekker seems to think that the series will be back on the air, and that production should begin as early as mid June.  Just keep in mind that there has yet to be any official word from FOX, and there probably won't be until May. 

If true, this is very good news.  However, I'm a bit skeptical of actors who claim that their show will almost certainly be renewed.  When you're in the TV business, you have little choice but to be optimistic.  Shows are yanked around and canceled all the time and, though I think Dekker is a good guy, his statements may be little more than wishful thinking.  Although I really want Terminator to come back for another season, I'd understand if FOX decided not to renew.  It doesn't mean I wouldn't hate them for it, but I'd get it.  The budget for Terminator has to be expensive – even in its short premiere season, it probably had more action set pieces than any other network television show.  Also, the ratings weren't that great, and that was while competing against a strike-addled prime time landscape.  Can FOX really expect the viewership to increase next season?
