I'm curious to see what die-hard
Terminator fans think of tonight's episode.
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, just by being a TV show, has to take the existing
Terminator mythology and expand on it greatly. There are going to be new and different paths taken than the ones in the films. This might rub
Terminator purists the wrong way, but it's the way it has to be. On tonight's episode, Cameron began displaying real human emotions. We find out why.
Previously on
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - Charley's wife dies thanks to Cromartie. Weaver offers Ellison a job hunting terminators.
We begin the episode in the future, with Cameron running from something that sounds gigantic. She makes it outside, but is captured in a big net. Cut to current day. John and Cameron park on the side of the street. John's going to Radio World, will pick her up in a little bit. However, he's not going to Radio World.
Sarah is stopped by her pregnant landlord, Casey . She's bleeding, probably about ready to give birth. Sarah agrees to take her tot he hospital. Casey is given a check up by the doctor. If the blood is the baby's, they will have to do an emergency c-section. Sarah opts to stay with her in the hospital.
Cameron goes shopping. She flashes back to her past after looking at an apple. Then she runs into a watermelon stand. She freezes, is stopped. Cops come – she is unresponsive. We flash back to the future. Cameron is captured, being interrogated. She used to be a real person, maybe? She says her name is Allison Young. A large terminator then burns a bar code onto her arm.
Now in the prison holding cell, Cameron makes friends with a girl named Jodie. She tells Jodie that her name is Allison. John is at the supermarket. He finds out what has happened, then runs off. Cameron and Jodie are let out. Jodie sees Cameron's roll of bills (it's a lot) and decides that the two of them will hang out.
John arrives at the police station. He finds out that Cameron was released an hour before, and left with a girl named Jodie, and that she usually hangs out on “the Boulevard.”
Sarah and Casey talk. Sarah talks about the birth of John, and that he was born in the hills of Central America. She sings a birthday song that the Central American farmers sang after the birth. Casey's baby daddy shows up. Sarah leaves, but Busy wants her to come back. Sarah leaves, and stares longingly at the newborns. This inspires her to call John.
John walks the streets, asking random people if they know someone named Jodie. No one seems to.
Ellison meets with Catherine Weaver about the job she offered him. Ellison warns that the last time he hunted these machines, twenty men got killed. Weaver makes up a story about her husband getting killed in a helicopter accident.
And we're back to the future. Cameron/Allison is in a cell. She refuses to eat her food. Back to the past. Jodie and Cameron eat food. Jodie tells her story – she moved from Michigan, had a job, lost it, and then started living with different people, doing whatever she could for money. A guy shows up who Jodie stole a laptop from. He punches Jodie in her face. Cameron acts scared, then gives the guy her wad of bills.
Cameron is taken to a halfway house by Jodie. They sign up to stay for a couple days. Cameron writes Allison Young in the name slot. Jodie gives Cameron her necklace.
Ellison is back at the FBI headquarters. He wants his ex-wife Lyla to run a background check on Catherine Weaver. She notices that Ellison isn't wearing his cross.
Back to the future. Allison is interrogated – she doesn't remember where she's from. This is intercut with her meeting with the halfway home's counselor. In the future, she says that she lives in a tunnel and eats garbage. Allison's father was an architect, mother was a music teacher. She has a bracelet she got from her sister. Her birthday is/was July 22. She remembers a party -the last one. By the next year, everyone was dead. Cameron cries in present day at the counselor's office. In the future, Cameron says that she's from Palmdale. Then, she escapes, in the future.
John finds the eatery where Cameron ate, learns that she might be at halfway house.
Cameron is still emotional, in the bed underneath Jodie. Jodie tells her that they are going to go out and have some fun.
Casey's baby-daddy seems like a nice enough guy, he buys all of them food. But...he is an LAPD detective.
Ellison gets the background check. Everything checks out, except that her husband's helicopter accident was due to mechanical failure.
John finds Cameron playing foosball in the halfway house. Cameron still thinks she's Allison from Palmdale. She doesn't recognize John and is freaked out by him saying they have to go home. He tells her she's from the future. WE flash to the future, as Allison/Cameron tries to escape from whatever prison she is in. There are animals in cages, people in cages, all pretty scary. She exits onto a rooftop, a few floors up. She dives into some water below, but is caught in a net.
Back at the halfway house, Cameron pushes John, still not recognizing him. John is escorted out.
In the future, Allison is recaptured, brought into a room. A robot Cameron/Allison tells real Allison/Cameron that she shouldn't have run, it has only made things worse for her. The robot Allison compliments the real one's hair. John Connor chose the real Allison. The robot Allison/Cameron is a robot who wants peace.
Cameron tells the therapist that she is a robot, sent from the future to infiltrate the human resistance. She is programmed to find John Connor, and that when she finds him, she is going to kill him. The therapist calls the cops later. Cameron and Jodie talk about going away together. The therapist takes the cops to Jodie and Cameron's room – they are gone.
Ellison meets with Weaver, meets her daughter Savannah. Weaver takes Ellison into her office. He tells her that he knows about the mechanical failure. Ellison accepts the position.
John follows Cameron and Jodie to a random family's house – someone who Jodie says that she used to babysit for. It turns out that it was her parent's house.
Robot Cameron and real Cameron, in the future, talk about the bracelet. It turns out that the bracelet is a pass to get into the Connor camp. Robot Cameron takes the bracelet, then snaps the real Cameron's neck.
Cameron interrogates Jodie, who was going to set Cameron up. There's a silent alarm on the house, and Jodie was going to run away, leaving Cameron to take the blame when the cops showed up. John enters the house, sees Jodie on the ground. She looks dead, but she's not. John and Cameron leave.
