Maybe you haven't said that many goodbyes to Chad Michael Murray yet. But maybe you will soon. Is it hello, Brian Austin Green?
Sources tell
Entertainment Weekly that the actor is in the final stages of talks to become a regular on
One Tree Hill, which is pretty much a good fit, if you remember him from Beverly Hills
90210. Yeah, sure, you can't easily scrub that one out of your head. But the star, who last appeared in the recently-terminated
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, is essentially in the role, pending a few kinks.
"They're ironing out a few issues, but it's pretty much a done deal," said one source.
Green, who also recently guest-starred in the season finale of
CSI:
Miami, was initially signed up for
Body Politic, a pilot for the CW
which also starred
Friday Night Lights' Minka Kelly. But that wasn't
picked up, and the network proceeded to offer him a role
elsewhere--which turned out to be this.
If things do fall through, Green will appear as Clayton, a sports agent
who will represent Nathan. He's just one of three characters that'll
be introduced in the seventh season of
OTH; also on the decks are the
roles of Haley's older sister, and an actress-slash-model-slash-diva
who Brooke hires to be the face of her clothing line.
And with Murray's exit, as well as Hilarie Burton, you might as well
get ready to call this
One Tree Hill, extreme. All right, I kid, but
you know what I mean, right?
