Katharine “Kate” Towne appears as a member of the cast in the HBO television drama series Tell Me You Love Me. She is an American film and television actress who was born on July 17, 1978 in Hollywood, California, and is the daughter of Academy Award-winning screenwriter Robert Towne and actress Julie Payne. Among the films that she has acted in are She's All That, What Lies Beneath, and Mulholland Drive. She has also appeared in television productions such as
Buffy the Vampire Slayer , The Near Future, and Splitsville. Her ex-husband is actor Charlie Hunnam, whom she met during an audition for
Dawson's Creek , and married three weeks later.
Mason is portrayed by Kate Towne in the HBO television drama series Tell Me You Love Me. She is the sister of Carolyn, as well as the best friend of Jamie. She does her best to cheer Jamie up when she's feeling depressed and keep her happy, though she doesn't seem to know exactly the right way of doing so. She's also the complete opposite of her sister Carolyn in terms of personality and attitude. She has been known to enter strip clubs looking for lap dances, and her frank willingness to go down on someone to get what she wants.
