David Lynn Selby appears as a member of the cast in the HBO television drama series Tell Me You Love Me. He is an American character actor who was born on February 5, 1941 in Morgantown, West Virginia, who has worked mainly in soap operas on television. Selby studied at the West Virginia University found in his hometown, where he earned both Bachelor of Science and Master’s degrees in theater, along with a Ph.D. later on from Southern Illinois University. Among the television series he has worked on are Dark Shadows, Flamingo Road, and Falcon Crest. He has also acted in the films Raise the Titanic, D3: The Mighty Ducks, and Up the Sandbox.
Arthur is portrayed by David Selby in the HBO television drama series Tell Me You Love Me. He is the retired husband of sexual health guru and relationship counselor May Foster. Despite his advanced age and lingering unresolved issues in their marriage, the two of them still manage to have a strong relationship with each other, one that continues to be founded on both deep love and passionate sexual desire for each other. May’s own life experiences with him often supply the backbone of the advice she gives to other problematic couples.
