There are few supporting characters on MTV's hit supernatural drama Teen Wolf as beloved as Danny. The character has grown from a background player in the first season to a more established part of the gang in season 3, with all the romance and danger that entails.

Sure, Danny might not know any supernatural secrets yet, but he sure can throw a good party. His blacklight party in the Halloween episode was great fun, even if it was attended by a lot of shadowy characters.

In real life, actor Keahu Kahuanui is a bona fide geek, who created his own elaborate costume to wear to last year's San Diego Comic Convention. He also appears often on geek queen Felicia Day's YouTube channel Geek and Sundry. So becoming a part of the Teen Wolf cast was an obvious fit for the sci-fi and genre fan.

BuddyTV was lucky enough to chat with Keahu about what's coming up next for Danny, what the future might hold for Danny and Ethan, and what special skills (besides expert computer hacker) his character might be hiding up his sleeve:

What's coming up next for Danny this season?
Whether he's conscious of it or not, Danny has a hard time staying out of danger.  He also has a rough time figuring out where his relationship with Ethan is going.  I think it's safe to say, Danny has some turbulence ahead.

We saw Danny making time with his ex. Does that mean Danny and Ethan's romance is over? Or is there more to their story?
Ethan ditched school and him without any word, so I think Danny did what most people do, he rebounded.  Unfortunately it was with his ex, who Ethan catches him with when Ethan finally decides to come back to school, for other reasons.  It's hard to say what their future together will be, because both of them faced tough situations. But they might still have a chance.

Do you think Danny will ever learn about the werewolf and supernatural stuff? I mean everyone talks so loudly in school, it's possible he already knows.
Sometimes it's better not to know.  Look what knowing did to Sheriff Stilinski and Melissa...  Ignorance is bliss?

How do you think Danny would react to finding out about all the supernatural stuff? What about finding out Ethan is a little bit of a murderer? That's got to put a strain on a relationship.
Personally, being a murderer is kind of a deal breaker with anyone. But Danny also seems unphased by being hospitalized three times, so who knows?  I think he'd like to know where Ethan disappeared to for a few weeks first.

In seasons past we found out Danny is also a computer hacker. Do you think Danny has any other hidden talents?
He seems like he'd have an unexpected hidden talent, like speaking Latin or he was a parkour specialist.

What is it you like best about playing Danny? What storylines or aspects of his character would you like the show to explore?
I enjoy that he's grounded and, pun intended, plays the straight man in most of the chaos going on around him.  It'd be interesting to explore how he would deal with facing a choice of being bitten. Or maybe Danny starting to investigate, on his own, why so many weird things are happening in Beacon Hills.

Danny is certainly a fan favorite. Personally I've been covering the show since the first season and I've always been a fan. But there are also #MoreDanny hashtags and large numbers of fans on Twitter and Tumblr. What has it been like to have that kind of fan response?
It really came as a surprise.  Fans have been incredibly supportive and I couldn't be more thankful, not only to have a fun role and set to work on, but also to know it's welcomed and enjoyed just as much by the audience.  #MoreDanny

If Danny could have one supernatural power, what would it be?
Master of surviving fatally dangerous situations. At least, so far.

The Teen Wolf cast seems to be very close-knit and funny. Can you share any fun behind-the-scenes stories?
Shooting the scenes on the tiny, stuffy bus in season 3A, Charlie cut the cheese and we had to gasp for air through the windows that were no bigger than the size of shoe boxes.  It was so bad you couldn't help but laugh.

I know you're into cosplay, especially after you showed up at the Teen Wolf San Diego Comic Con panel wearing a really cool costume you made. What's your next big cosplay project? Anything planned for SDCC 2014?
I do have a few cosplay projects I'm working on, but I don't have concrete plans for SDCC 2014 yet.  I learned a lot a putting together the last cosplay you saw, so I'm hoping to step it up a notch or two next time.

Teen Wolf airs Mondays at 10pm on MTV.
